A free online Christmas Celebration organised by Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT) attracted over a thousand viewers, including former patients and their families.

The charity’s Events Team organised the celebration as way of saying thank you to supporters at the end of a challenging year for the charity.

Kerry Russell, EHAAT’s Head of Events and Merchandise, said: “We were delighted with the response we got. Although we couldn’t gather together in person this year, we wanted to share some festive spirit with our supporters and judging by the many positive comments, we succeeded.

“From the comfort of their own home our amazing supporters were able to enjoy some festive songs, unique readings, a look behind the scenes with our crew and a personal message from Janey Gurney, our CEO.

“During a year like no other, the support we have received from people of Essex and Hertfordshire has been humbling. It has allowed our critical care teams to continue be there 24/7 to help keep more families together this Christmas, so it was great to be able to reach out to people at this time and enjoy something positive together.”

The event included contributions from Martin and Su of Radio Essex, the choir at St Andrews Church in Earls Colne, songs from the young people of Make Believe performing arts company in Ware. There was also a chance to see EHAAT’s Christmas film (which can be viewed here) featuring six children across Essex and Hertfordshire who have been attended by its critical care teams.

Anyone who would like to view the Online Christmas Celebration can watch a recording on the EHAAT website.
