Families looking for a great day out need look no further than the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT) FREE North Weald Family Fun Day on Sunday May 12th.

The event, which takes place next to the charity’s North Weald Airbase, is the destination for the hundreds of bikers taking part in EHAAT’s annual Motorcycle Run from Hertfordshire Police Headquarters at Welwyn to the historic North Weald Airfield. The route passes through Hitchin, Royston, Puckeridge, and Bishop’s Stortford.

At North Weald, as well as being able to watch hundreds of bikes arrive, spectators can enjoy a full day of family-friendly entertainment.

There will be plenty to keep younger members of the family entertained, including a Teacup ride, Bungee ride, Chairoplanes and a double decker bus with milkshakes and sweets!

The Two Brothers motorcycle stunt team will be performing shows that are guaranteed to entertain and amaze, while ART Rider Training school will be demonstrating correct riding techniques for would-be riders.

There will be plenty of live music on offer. Leading Essex party band `Radio Video’ will be entertaining the crowd with music from Abba to Queen and everything in between. Joining them will be upcoming blues-rock band Southbound whose distinctive sound draws on influences as diverse as Fleetwood Mac, B.B. King and Eric Clapton and Bedfordshire-based high-energy Ska band BuBounce.

Emily Donnachie, Events Manager at EHAAT said: “Whether you love bikes or are just looking for a great day out with a difference, the Family Fun Day at North Weald has it all.

“Although it is free for spectators to attend, we suggest a minimum donation of £5. As a charity which receives no direct Government support or National Lottery funding, we depend on the support of the people of Essex and Hertfordshire to keep us flying.”
