Volunteering at EHAAT – Alice Simpson

  • Provides office support
  • Charity fundraiser including taking part in treks
  • Helps at events such as our motorcycle runs

I’m Alice Simpson and I started fundraising for the charity when I signed up to a trek in Nepal in 2013. I enjoyed both the fundraising and challenge of the trek so much I signed up for Cambodia and then Slovenia!

My fundraising led me to organise pub quizzes, family fun days, garage sales and thinking that I wanted to do more for the charity, I signed up as a volunteer. I feel honoured to be a volunteer for this wonderful charity. There are a few duties I do including attending events such as Strictly Air Ambulance and the Motorcycle Run. I also help in the office, carry out bucket collections, give talks and host airbase visits. I still fundraise when I can and in February this year, I set my own challenge of Fancy Dress February, when I wore a different costume every day of the month – I wanted to do something, because so many events have had to be cancelled recently.

Signing up to become a volunteer is one of the best things I have done, I’ve met so many lovely people and have been to some wonderful places, working alongside other volunteers, staff, and crew. It’s very rewarding, as is knowing you are helping raise vital funds for a life-saving charity.
