EHAAT has developed so much since I joined in 2003, and it is still a special Charity to work for. I love the variety of my role, working with a huge range of supporters across the counties. I was honoured recently to receive the IoD East of England Director of the Year Award in the Public/Third Sector.

Operations Director

My role involves ensuring the Charity gets value for money from contractors providing our aviation services and support them in maintaining safe operation. I represent EHAAT at aviation-based committees and work with contractors and medical colleagues to provide clinical excellence.

Dr Ronan Fenton

Medical Director

I am a Consultant Anaesthetist at Broomfield Hospital and joint Medical Director of Acute Committee Mid & South Essex Success Regime. I am currently the Medical Director of EHAAT & and I’m delighted to be able to contribute to developing the Pre-hospital Care system in the East of England.

I work with the Medical Director and CEO to provide support, guidance and advice across all clinical issues and with the Operations Director on business operations and strategy. As Registered Manager for CQC I manage our regulated activities to ensure exemplary clinical delivery.

I joined the Charity in 2006. As Fundraising and Marketing Director, I develop and oversee new initiatives that generate vital funds and raise awareness of the Charity’s work. I manage an enthusiastic team dedicated to providing the best Helicopter Emergency Medical Service for Essex & Herts.

Jonathan Ager

Finance Director

I'm a Chartered Accountant and responsible for all of EHAAT’s financial activities. I joined in 2017 having spent 15 years in the motor industry in financial and managerial roles. Bringing my commercial experience, I am relishing the opportunity of working in the charity sector.

I am Managing Director at DC Advisory, a corporate advisory firm and own a local farming business. I have lived most of my life in Hertfordshire and Essex and have been involved with various local charities. I was delighted to be invited to join the board of Trustees in 2016.

I am the Managing Director for the Anglian Radio Group. I became a Trustee in 2006 and feel privileged to have worked with so many talented, caring and passionate people. I've been part of the treks to Peru, Cambodia, Italy and Tanzania, which raise vital funds for this life-saving Charity.

I started as a volunteer trainer for EHAAT and became a Trustee in 2011. I am proud to support the Charity in helping them make a difference to people’s lives. I’m a freelance Trainer in commercial aviation and my hobbies include being a Stand Up Paddler and racing nationally.

I am the Chairman of MDS Civil Engineering Ltd. I have been a rugby referee for 25 years and I am currently a time keeper for the Premiership. Since 2012 I’ve been a helicopter pilot and currently fly a Robinson R66. I’m looking forward to the challenge of supporting EHAAT.

I am the Managing Partner of Nockolds Solicitors and have been a Trustee since 2009. It’s a huge privilege to be a part of EHAAT. The drive, passion, and enthusiasm of those involved is infectious, with everyone working towards one simple goal, to save lives - and it’s saved countless!

I am director of several local enterprises and a chartered accountant by qualification. In my spare time I enjoy cycling, walking and travelling to other parts of the world. I admire and respect the Charity and am keen to help it continue to grow and flourish.

Alongside being Director of my own company, I am the County Chairman of a national charitable organization and a Trustee for Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust. I am deeply passionate about seeing EHAAT flourish, having had direct experience when they treated my daughter.

I work in London for investment manager, BlackRock, commuting from Witham in Essex. I hope to bring a wealth of finance experience to the Charity. I've already been involved as a member of the Charity’s Investment Advisory Committee.

My role is to provide tactical management and support our team so that we can continue to provide phenomenal medical and trauma care to the people of Essex and Hertfordshire. I embrace the challenges ahead and know that we will carry on providing great care to our patients.

I'm an Emergency Medicine Consultant and Paediatric Emergency Medicine specialist at the Royal London Hospital. I began pre-hospital care in 2014, flying with London's Air Ambulance. I then joined EHAAT's emeritus team in 2017 and then became Clinical Governance Lead in 2018.

In 1998 I started my career in the ambulance service and in 2002 I was seconded to Essex Air Ambulance as a HEMS Paramedic for 5 days a month. In 2014, after completing over 1500 flying missions and a Masters in Critical Care, I applied and succeeded as Essex Clinical Manager.

I’ve worked in the ambulance service as a Paramedic for 14 years with my career being angled towards working on the Air Ambulance as part of the Pre-hospital medical team. I achieved this in 2013. In addition, I’m now Patient Liaison Manager, delivering patient care post-accident.

I started in 2014 as a Critical Care Paramedic and became a Patient Liaison Manager in 2017. As a PLM, I signpost former patients to support organisations, and stay a part of their journey to recovery. I love working for EHAAT and being part of a truly life-saving cause.

In addition to my work in Emergency Departments, I've sought a range of pre-hospital experiences. I've spent time volunteering with a mountain rescue team in Snowdonia, as a Pre-hospital Doctor in Oxfordshire and been the Doctor for expeditions in the Alps and Borneo.

Before working for EHAAT I spent 14 years working for the East of England Ambulance Service. I’ve been a Paramedic for 11 of those year. My job is amazing, and it’s a privilege to know that I have been able to do everything in my power to ease someone’s suffering.

I joined EEAST in 2009 and qualified as a Paramedic in 2014. For the last four years I have also volunteered as a Paramedic for Norfolk Accident Rescue Service. I’m passionate about providing high quality patient care and enjoy meeting new people along with working in a highly motivated team.

I graduated from University of Hertfordshire and registered as a Paramedic in 2013. I worked for London Ambulance Service for five years before joining the Charity. I enjoy working for EHAAT as I am able to serve the counties where I have grown up, gone to school and university and now live.

I began my career as an NHS Paediatric Nurse. In 2004 I joined London Ambulance Service before moving to EEAST in 2008. I’m passionate about making a positive difference to my patients and being able to provide treatment and reassurance to people to improve their situation in times of need.

Previous to EHAAT I have worked in the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART). I enjoy working as part of a team and bringing enhanced care to critically ill or injured patients. Outside of work I play lots of football and spend time with my friends and family.

I joined the Ambulance Service in 1995 and qualified as a Paramedic in 1997. I worked for East Anglian Air Ambulance from 2001-2008 and have been working as Leading Operations Manager for EEAST, based in Bury St Edmunds since 2009.

I have spent 5 years with EHAAT as a Pre-hospital Consultant and a Consultant in emergency medicine at RLH. I trained as an emergency physician in Australia, worked as a trauma physician with Queensland Ambulance Service and also in aeromedical retrieval.

I started with EHAAT in 2012. Previously, I worked for the HEMS services in London and Australia. Since 2016, I've been a Consultant for EHAAT, seconded for 1 day per week from my NHS job as a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Major Trauma at King's College Hospital.

I am a Consultant in Emergency Medicine, based in Cambridge. As well as EHAAT, I have worked for London's Air Ambulance and Sydney HEMS. The best thing about my job is the helicopters and fast cars! Outside of work I enjoy cycling, travelling and photography.

Dr Naomi Pritchard

I'm a Consultant Anaesthetist, specialising in trauma and obstetric anaesthesia. In 2014 I spent a year with EHAAT as a Pre-hospital Care Doctor and then five years with the emeritus team. I'm interested in developing world healthcare, having done a lot of teaching and mentoring in East Africa.

I have now been with EHAAT for five years. Previously I have worked on London's Air Ambulance and was am Emergency Medicine Consultant and Trauma Lead at St George's Hospital, London. I love making a positive difference for patients and their families.

I'm a Consultant Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon at King's College Hospital and an Academic Lecturer at Barts and the London School of Medicine and the Institute of Pre-hospital Care (London's Air Ambulance). I worked for EHAAT and LAA from 2013-2017, after which I solely worked for EHAAT in addition to my NHS post.

David Kerr-Sheppard

I served in the RAF for over 30 years, predominantly on the Sea King Search and Rescue aircraft. I joined EHAAT in 2008 and I’m now the Chief Pilot at the Essex Airbase. I work closely with the Operations Director to ensure we operate safely within the stringent regulations.

I have been a Pilot for 15 years, spending the last six as a HEMS Touring Pilot, working across many bases in the UK. I enjoy working as part of a big team where every day is different and knowing that I have helped to make a difference.

It's always been my ambition to be part of an Air Ambulance crew. I am now employed by Specialist Aviation Services with EHAAT. My flying career began at London Southend Airport instructing on Robinson and Bell Helicopters. I then moved on to fly Twin Squirrel helicopters commercially.

William Hordley


I joined EHAAT in 2016. My previous flying experience involved flight instruction on R22 and R44 helicopters. It is a great privilege to be part of EHAAT working alongside such a professional team. As co-pilot I help navigate and assist the captain during the flight phase of an emergency call.

Oliver David


I started flying with the RAF reserves 13 years ago, then moved on to an instructor role. I gained my helicopter licenses and have flown helicopters across the UK and Europe. I really the enjoy dynamic of being part of EHAAT's HEMS crew, ensuring the safety of crew whilst landing in challenging landing sites.

Before flying I worked as an Aviation Support Engineer and later, after gaining a BSc Computer Science, in IT management. For the past 12 years I have been flying helicopters as an instructor and recently as an examiner. My new role enables me to take something I love doing and use it in such a beneficial way.

I trained to fly in the army, where I stayed for 12 years. I then spent 20 years flying police helicopters. I'm fortunate enough that my job is my hobby! I like that I'm able to bring expertise care to patients and then transport them to continue that care.

After 6 years of British Gas Door to Door Canvassing I joined a team of friends canvassing for EHAAT. I find it a very rewarding job knowing that I help, as a team, to keep our helicopters in the air and saving as many lives as possible.
